New FiberMark Laser

We have purchased a new FiberMark Laser that uses a different wavelength then our other CO2 Laser engravers. With this new FiberMark Laser we can now laser directly into bare metals like stainless steel, brass, copper, silver, silver plated, pewter and engineered plastics with incredible detail. Attached is a photo of a business card we did. It includes a picture of the agent engraved at a 1″ height, yet we were still able to achieve incredible detail.

 

With this new laser we will be introducing a whole new line of products in the coming months.  In the mean time if you have a piece of jewelry, flatware, or just about anything metal that we can fit into our 12″x24″ x 5″ laser area, we can now engrave it with our new toy!

SDTrophy.com returns from Recognition Roundtable event

SDTrophy.com recently attended its annual educational seminar in Phoenix, Arizona.

• Was it hot, yes extremely.
• Was it fun, yes extremely.
• Was it educational, yes extremely.

Two key areas of discussion were Succession planing and Social Media education. While neither of these sound like it will directly help the end-user of http://www.sdtrophy.com, it will by ensuring that our customers are well-informed about our product offerings and also by making sure that whomever the next person leading http://www.sdtrophy.com operations, they will be ready to continue the customer service that we pride ourselves in.  No I am not planning on selling anytime soon, I have another 15-20 years of leading our company left in me, but if something were to happen to me, I want to make sure that my customers are taken care of and will continue to receive their products in a timely matter.  This became very apparent how important this is during April – May 2010 when I had a skiing accident and was out of day-to-day operations for more than my planned time away.  Even though I was not able to work, thanks to my staff, business continued without me and our returning customers were still able to get the products they needed.

SDTrophy.com recognized TWICE

While I have been attending the ARA trade show this past week with my peers and new recognition family of the Recognition Roundtable members, I was humbled last night to find out that SDTrophy.com was a finalist in two prestigious categories, Small Business Retailer of the Year and ARA Website of the Year. While we did not “win” either award, it was an honor to be a finalist in both categories and I congratulate the winners. For so many years I have been creating awards to recognize large and small companies, youth and adult athletes with engraved awards and trophies for over 16 years now, it was nice to be on the other side of the award giving and feeling my heart pounding with anticipation of who was going to be honored. I look forward to continuing my efforts to provide the best customer service in the awards industry and creating a user-friendly recognition awards website, and who knows, maybe next time it just might be me. It has been a great week and am pumped and ready to get back to work and producing great memories for others!
